naaf fellows program

what is the naaf fellows program?

The NAAF Fellows Program is a one-year ministry development experience designed to support individuals exploring a call to Christian service. The program serves those with a clear call, as well as those who show passion and potential but are still discerning. The program partners with pastors and leaders to identify, nurture, and equip emerging leaders through prayer, mentorship, field engagement, and structured reflection.

Vision

The NAAF Fellows Program exists to:

  • Develop the current and next generation of ministry leaders, church planters, and pastors who are called to serve in the African American community

  • Ensure the essential ministry principles are taught and contextualized.

  • Activate the passion of future leaders by addressing the lack of spiritual mentorship by putting pastors back into the position of intentional mentoring to meet the now and the next generations where God is at work in them and through them. We aim to keep engaging, developing, and discipling while creating safe space for innovation and growth.

intentional mentorship

Each NAAF Fellow will be mentored by a NAAF Network Pastor for professional development, edification, and spiritual formation.

field experience

NAAF Fellows will complete a 12-month program enhanced by field work to develop core competencies and meaningful experience while immersed in ministry work.

Community and resources

In-person and online intensives will provide valuable resources for development while establishing a network of colleagues, mentors, and ministry contacts.
